Artist Statement

Quinn Robertson

Quinn Robertson is a 23-year-old Marshall University alumnus that graduated magna cum-laude with a major in Video production, along with minors in film and media studies. Especially in his youth, Quinn found great inspiration from programming like Adult Swim that influenced his sense of aesthetic. Quinn’s style would soon transform into an appreciation and love for directors like Trey Parker, Mike Judge, Spike Jonze, and the Safdie Brothers. The stories Quinn aims to capture deals with everyday experiences and change happening in ones reality.

However, the emphasis holds no control over Quinn as he has experimented with other forms of style (Commercial Work, Multi-genre Specific Narratives, Stop Motion, Music Videos, etc.) as well as other forms of video presentation (Video art, Installation, Site Specific Projections).

Quinn's focus and appreciation for film comes from his lifelong love for popular and underground culture, and his interest in how film plays a role in influencing culture as a whole. Through his works, Quinn hopes to create a sense of reliability and comedic influence in today’s culture.
